Wave Goodbye to Email

Many have surmised that the next generation of internet users will forgo using email all together, instead favoring communication through text message, chat, Twitter, Facebook, and other mediums that provide more instant gratification and collaboration. At today’s Google I/O Developer Conference, Google may have just put that debate to rest by announcing a new communication tool, Google Wave. The idea, originally codenamed “Walkabout,” was spawned by Jens Rasmussen in Google’s Sydney [...] Continue Reading

Jack Box was in a bus crash, but is the social campaign a train wreck?

This was one of the more entertaining Superbowl commercials with a good tease and all the right corresponding components: hangintherejack.com, Facebook fan page, Twitter page, Email & SMS campaign, but I am very disappointed in the long-term execution.  This shouldn't even be a long-term execution by the way - people have short attention spans… what the hell is going to happen to Jack?

What the Mobile Evangelist said.

A couple of months ago, Brandon Zelasko gave a mighty fine Brown Bagger seminar on everything mobile. In case you missed it, these are his inspired words. (Hurry, post before it becomes outdated.) 50% of the world’s population has a mobile device. Only 10% of the world’s population has Internet. So what do you think is the best way to reach the most people? Hey wanna go mobile? In the old days, it was pretty easy to reach your consumer. If you ran an ad on one of the [...] Continue Reading
